Heroes in Transition RUCK Roast
Medium Body | Smooth with a Buttery Finish
A portion of proceeds from the purchase of this coffee supports Heroes in Transition, a organization on Cape Cod that provides assistance to veterans and military families.
This May, Ruck4HIT teams will run 220+ miles through all 15 towns on the Cape. The route begins in Bourne and continues to the tip of the Cape in Provincetown. From here, athletes will head back towards the finish line after running through every town on the Cape and finish the relay in Mashpee. Each athlete will run 2-4 miles at a time with a 20-30 pound ruck sack on his/her back as the teams complete the route in relay format, running non-stop until the mission is complete.
More about Heroes In Transition:
The mission of Heroes in Transition is to provide assistance that is not readily available from other organizations including local, state, and federal agencies. HIT provides assistance with such things as: home modifications for disabled veterans, transitional support group therapy, financial support for service families, assistance dogs for veterans, and much more. The RUCK4HIT relay run is a fundraiser that supports their mission.
Heroes in Transition, Inc. was founded in 2009 in memory of Capt. Eric A. Jones, a Marine helicopter pilot, who lost his life while supporting a combat mission in Afghanistan, October 26, 2009. “He flew helicopters to be close to the troops on the ground and be there to help them when they needed it most,” said Cyndy Jones, Eric’s mother and one of the founders of Heroes in Transition. The organization carries on Capt. Jones’ mission by providing assistance to those who have served or who are serving our country, especially in the Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom conflicts.
